The Australian share market looks set to open slightly higher after a mixed night on Wall Street as defensive sectors offset falls in materials, banks and other cyclical industries.
The SPI is trading at 5400, up 7 points.
In economic news, the Reserve Bank of Australia Assistant Governor of Financial Markets Guy Debelle will speak at the Profit & Loss Forex Network Conference in New York.
In equities news, the CEDA Women in Leadership series, featuring Nicola Roxon, Lucy Brogden and Julian Segal, will be held.
Otherwise, the equities diary is fairly quiet.
