The Australian market looks set to open higher after another strong rally on Wall Street, thanks to higher oil prices and investors becoming more comfortable with the prospect of a June interest rate rise.

The SPI is trading at 5398, up 31 points.

In economic news, Reserve Bank of Australia Assistant governor for Financial Markets Guy Debelle is slated to speak at the launch of the Global Code of Conduct for the Foreign Exchange Market in New York.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics is due to release March quarter private new capital expenditure and expected expenditure data.

And, the NSW Future State Intergenerational Report is due to be released.

In equities news, Aristocrat Leisure is expected to release half-year results.

Meanwhile, Iluka Resources managing director David Robb and WA Minister for Mines and Petroleum Sean L'Estrange are slated to speak at WA Mining Club Lunch in Perth.
