Aussie shares jumped higher today, following a collective rally on international markets overnight.
All sectors finished higher, with materials and utilities being the top percentage gainers.
The big four banks were all stronger with CBA and ANZ the best of the group, both climbing 0.9%.
The mining majors outperformed the market, helped by rising metals prices and generally buoyant sentiment. BHP climbed 1.3%, whilst rival Rio Tinto advanced 1.5%.
Computershare (+5.5%) was another standout after forming a JV to launch an online postal mail service, Digital Post Australia.
The ASX 200 added 40 points (+0.9%), to settle at 4287.
