The Australian market finished in positive territory today, defying mixed leads from overseas markets last night.
All-in-all it was a fairly subdued session, with no major fireworks and the key blue-chips edging higher.
The banks had solid day with ANZ the best of the big four, rising 1.8%
The big miners both gained, with BHP advancing 0.1% and Rio Tinto 1.4%.
The ASX 200 rose 20 points (+0.5%) closing at 4294.
