The Aussie market rallied for a fifth consecutive session today, following on from last night's huge rally on Wall Street.
Another big rise in commodity prices buoyed the local miners; BHP added 0.8% and Rio Tinto climbed 0.9%.
The big four also added to their recent gains; CBA closed up 1.2% and Westpac rose 1%.
Nexus led the advance among energy stocks (+17.2%), whilst Santos put on 2.7% amid recovering oil prices.
Woolworths edged lower by 0.9% after naming Grant O'Brien as its new CEO.
The ASX 200 advanced 27 points (+0.6%), settling at 4228.
