The Aussie market is flying today, buoyed by strong leads from international markets overnight.
The XJO is currently more than 100 points (+3%) to the good, with materials, financials and energy plays leading the charge higher.
Gold and silver stocks have bounced strongly after yesterday's rout, with Newcrest up close to 5% and Cobar Consolidated up more than 17%.
In company news, Bannerman Resources (BMN) has surged 20% after announcing that it plans to advance takeover talks with potential suitor Sichuan Hanlong Group in coming weeks.
Around the region, Asian markets are all trading higher with the Hang Seng (+2.7%) and Nikkei (+1.8%) the standouts.
